David Sundra is a graphic designer and illustrator for over 20 years with a passion for comics and comic art. In-between running his own design studio, he also does comic art commissions and writes and illustrates his own comics, with his first published comic series Deep Dark now currently on sale worldwide.

David’s comic addiction started at a very early age when he was gifted his first comic. Since then, he has built a collection of comics and graphic novels featuring many artists that has inspired and influenced him, such as Berni Wrightson, Frank Frazetta, Jose Gonzalez, Arthur Adams, Barry Windsor-Smith, Leonard Starr, Stan Drake, Alex Toth, Dave Stevens, Milo Manara and Adam Hughes. His love of comics also exposed him to the world of graphic design and typography, which would become his main profession. Comic art has always been a hobby for David as he focused on his career as a graphic designer but chose to turn it into a part-time gig during the 2020 lockdowns as a way to make extra income. His art style varies from hyper-detailed to inky washes, mostly depending on the subject and the “feel” of the piece. While he does superhero art for commissions and portfolio, he prefers topics closer to mythology, horror and fantasy when it comes to his creator-owned works.

As he continues to build his career as a comic artist, David hopes to participate in more local comic events and launch his second creator-owned comic series soon.
